We welcome all USA-based people to apply. This role is 100% work from home.

Perceptyx is looking for an experienced Director of Engineering to lead the teams behind our Listening Products — a critical part of our global product suite. In this role, you’ll shape the direction of multiple engineering teams, guide the technical execution of our roadmap, and partner closely with product, design, and business team leaders to build meaningful, customer-centric solutions.

This is a leadership role focused not only on delivery but also on cultivating a healthy, high-performing engineering culture that scales with the business. You’ll be instrumental in driving strategic initiatives, making architectural decisions, and developing the next generation of engineering leaders.

*** PLEASE NOTE: Because this position involves supporting some of our government sector customers, all candidates being considered must be U.S. Citizens.

What You’ll Do:

Team & Leadership

  • Lead and mentor multiple engineering teams, including engineering managers and senior ICs.
  • Foster a culture of accountability, technical excellence, innovation, and continuous growth.
  • Attract and retain top talent through thoughtful leadership and a commitment to inclusion.

Technical Strategy & Execution

  • Own the execution of the product roadmap — ensuring timely and high-quality delivery of features and enhancements.
  • Guide architectural decisions to ensure our platform is scalable, reliable, and secure.
  • Collaborate with product and design to build solutions that directly align with customer needs.
  • Promote best practices in software development, including CI/CD, test automation, security, and code quality.

Service Ownership & Operational Excellence

  • Ensure teams own their services end-to-end — from design and deployment to uptime and incident resolution.
  • Drive a strong DevOps culture with robust observability, automation, and SRE practices.
  • Set high standards for security, performance, and code quality.

Cross-Functional & Executive Collaboration

  • Partner with senior leadership to align engineering efforts with company goals.
  • Build strong relationships across teams to ensure shared ownership of technology and strategy.
  • Advocate for engineering needs and investments, balancing innovation with operational efficiency.

Continuous Improvement

  • Champion better ways of working — from tooling to workflows — to increase engineering effectiveness.
  • Prioritize technical health and manage tech debt strategically.
  • Keep a pulse on emerging technologies and assess their potential value.

What We’re Looking For:

  • 10+ years of experience in software engineering, including 7+ years leading engineering teams.
  • Proven experience managing managers and growing high-performing teams that can efficiently build and evolve SaaS products from ideation to production.
  • A track record of building and scaling SaaS products. This is a must!
  • Experience scaling processes and systems in a fast-paced and evolving environment.
  • Deep understanding and hands-on experience in owning services end-to-end, including architecture, deployment, monitoring, incident management, and continuous improvement.
  • Understanding of user needs and experience working in customer-focused development environments.
  • Excellent communication and cross-functional collaboration skills.

*** A computer science degree (or similar) is a plus — but we value practical experience and leadership impact above all.

Voluntary Self-Identification of Disability
Voluntary Self-Identification of Disability Form CC-305
OMB Control Number 1250-0005
Expires 04/30/2026
Why are you being asked to complete this form?

We are a federal contractor or subcontractor. The law requires us to provide equal employment opportunity to qualified people with disabilities. We have a goal of having at least 7% of our workers as people with disabilities. The law says we must measure our progress towards this goal. To do this, we must ask applicants and employees if they have a disability or have ever had one. People can become disabled, so we need to ask this question at least every five years.

Completing this form is voluntary, and we hope that you will choose to do so. Your answer is confidential. No one who makes hiring decisions will see it. Your decision to complete the form and your answer will not harm you in any way. If you want to learn more about the law or this form, visit the U.S. Department of Labor’s Office of Federal Contract Compliance Programs (OFCCP) website at www.dol.gov/ofccp.
