Perceptyx is looking for a dynamic and highly skilled Head of Cloud Infrastructure and Operations to lead our global cloud strategy and operations. In this critical role, you’ll ensure our SaaS platform runs seamlessly across multiple AWS regions, including GovCloud, delivering top-tier performance, reliability, and security for our clients. We need a solid technical leader with a passion for enhancing both customer and developer experiences—someone who has a proven track record of building and scaling high-performing Operations, DevOps, and Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) teams. Essential Duties:
- Technical Leadership: Provide technical direction and strategic vision for the cloud infrastructure and operations team, consisting of Systems, DevOps, DBA, and SRE Engineers. Lead by example and actively participate in technical discussions and code reviews.
- Hands-On Involvement: Actively engage in hands-on technical work, including coding, troubleshooting, and performance tuning to ensure the team's success and maintain a deep understanding of the infrastructure.
- Infrastructure Management: Oversee the design, implementation, and maintenance of our cloud infrastructure using infrastructure as code (IaC) methodology, ensuring scalability, reliability, and performance across all AWS regions.
- CI/CD Pipeline Development: Build and enhance Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment (CI/CD) pipelines to streamline development processes and improve deployment efficiency.
- Operational Excellence: Establish and drive SRE principles, including monitoring, incident management, and disaster recovery protocols to ensure 99.9+% availability.
- Cost Management and Optimization: Optimize operational costs and manage vendor relationships, ensuring that cloud spending aligns with business and budget objectives.
- Compliance and Security: Ensure adherence to industry standards and compliance requirements, including SOC-2, GDPR, and ISO 27001.
- Team Development: Mentor and develop team members, fostering a culture of continuous learning and improvement. Encourage innovation and the adoption of new technologies.
- Stakeholder Collaboration: Work closely with product, engineering, and security teams to align cloud infrastructure initiatives with business objectives and customer needs.
Education/Desired Skillsets:
- Master's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
At least 5 years as a People Leader, and ideally 10 + years of experience in the following criteria:
- In-depth knowledge and expertise in cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud) with a particular emphasis on a breadth of AWS services, such as EC2, EKS, Lambda, S3, RDS, VPC, Route53, IAM, Glue, SQS, API Gateway, ELB, and CloudFront.
Prior experience with FedRamp compliance and security protocols is a significant plus.
Proficient in containerization and orchestration technologies, including Docker and Kubernetes.
Expertise in CI/CD tools and platforms like Jenkins, Artifactory, GitLab, or GitHub Actions.
Experience in network security (DNS, VPN/VPC, IDS/IPS, Subnets/Security Groups/Network ACLs) and technologies supporting compliance. E.g. HA/DR, IAM, Key Management, and WAF.
Proficient in coding and automation frameworks. E.g. Terraform, Helm, Ansible, Python and Bash.
Solid experience with observability, performance monitoring, and system reliability using tools like Splunk, CloudWatch, DataDog and PagerDuty.
Experience managing budgets, vendor relationships, and cost optimization initiatives.
Exceptional skills in leadership, communication, and team development.
- Strategic thinker with excellent analytical, problem-solving, and project management skills, with a proactive approach to identifying and resolving issues.
- A willingness to work with people from diverse backgrounds and experiences.
Perceptyx is focused on equitable pay for all our staff and aims for transparency with our pay practices. The annual salary range for the role is $230,000.00 - $270,000.00 plus an annual incentive bonus. The above range represents the expected base salary range for this position. The actual salary may vary based upon several factors, including, but not limited to, relevant skills/experience, time in the role, business line, and geographic/office location.
